I Visited the Metaverse and All I Got Was This Postcard
By Laura Ó Reilly
“I VISITED THE METAVERSE AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS POSTCARD” offers a wry commentary on the boundless possibilities—and inherent limitations—of the metaverse. Interdisciplinary artist Laura Ó Reilly transforms a traditional souvenir into a reflection on our current tech-hype era, capturing the surreal experience of navigating nascent virtual realms. Ó Reilly's postcard novelty embodies our collective state of techno-transit, where we constantly straddle interconnected worlds yet never truly arrive in either "real" or "virtual" realities, creating a sense of perpetual placelessness. With each purchase, you can send a message at www.lor.earth/postcard to be added to The Rose Library inside Voxels Metaverse.
