Memory Monument

Memory Monument is a memory game featuring over 100 unique examples of contemporary global monuments and memorials. Conceived of in the shadow of the United States’ reckoning with its own monument and memorial landscape, Memory Monument explores both the past and future of memory in public space. As new monuments and memorials go up and old ones come down, questions are raised about who and what should be represented in public space.

Eric Moed’s practice exists at the intersection of public art, architecture and design, examining the relationship between memory, narrative and society. He has completed large-scale public art and design installations in the US and the EU. In 2020 he founded New York-based transdisciplinary design studio Office of Open Practice. The transdisciplinary design studio/agency creates environments for learning, remembering and rethinking that are approachable, experiential and experimental.
